marketing week2


This week we had a shorter week due to the Easter break, so the blog posts will probably be a bit shorter!  But throughout the week my group has been working on their individual marketing plans.  I am working on what UT and DSD can do to increase awareness on their social media pages (such as likes on facebook etc).  To start I made some observations on what they already have that is both good and bad.  I found that the sites were very easy to find from the direct link they have on the UTsandiego site as well as the DSD site.  If someone were to go directly from the social media site itself that is when there might be more of a problem.  I then made some recommendations to improve their sites.  One, which we have already talked about in class is consolidating the amount of pages they have out there.  Having one page for each site would probably be most beneficial to them.  I also thought they could run certain deals only through facebook and twitter, where someone has to like the page in order to receive it.  This may decrease the amount of people buying, but I thought if they did it for something more targeted towards a younger crowd, most of that demographic does have a facebook already.   One other suggestion I had was making the UT facebook page more reader friendly.  Right now it is very plain and I think if it captured attention more they may increase their readership/likes of the page.  These are just a few of my ideas that I have come up with.  We have a “rough” presentation/discussion of our plans today, but the final one will be next week!  Let me know if any of you guys have any other great suggestions!
