On Monday, we were introduced to the Sales Department. They showed us two power points that they actually used in sales presentations to companies. Both power points were very informative and I learned a lot more about the UT. It's amazing how far ahead they are of their competitors. I think it's crazy that UT's mobile app alone gets more traffic each month than any other media website in San Diego. This gives UT a huge amount of leverage when selling to potential clients. Both presentations were very convincing, and if I was a potential client then I would definitely advertise with the UT.
We also learned that we will be doing two ride alongs over the next two weeks with a person in the sales department. My first ride along is this afternoon. I am really excited to see what a sales rep does on a day to day basis at the UT. I have no idea where I will be going today, but I will find out shortly. During the next two weeks in the sales department, it appears that our group won't need to do much if any outside work, but the time spent on the ride alongs will make up for it. I hope everyone else is enjoying their new rotations. I am excited to hear more about them as the next two weeks progress.
