I was actually a bit surprised to see how well every group did on the presentations. Most of the ideas seemed to impress the judges as well as the students in other groups. I was NOT surprised, however, to find that a lot of our ideas surfaced over and over again in each groups presentation...which I attribute to the collective USD mindset and our similar approaches to solving problems, etc.
I was glad to hear that although my group did not "win" (come on! we even used prezi!), that our ideas would still be incorporated and used for the final product. I'm also hoping that our labeled sunglasses idea will stick, mostly because I want a pair. Im also curious to see how they will have us work on the event while still rotating through the remaining sectors, but I'm not too worried since it has worked out so far. Next week my group and I rotate into the Marketing department, so I'm looking forward to seeing how a marketing department actually operates! (Although I've had plenty of prior internships they were in investment banking, aerospace technology, and real estate respectively).
...I became a marketing major for a reason, so lets roll!
